Register Manual Maintenance Event
Explanation
This activity is used to register a manual maintenance event for a serial.
To register a manual event, open the
Manual Maintenance Event page and create a record
there. Once saved, you can observe an event number is set for the manual event,
and this event will be included in the pool of pending maintenance events. Once
the manual event is created, you can enter information on the work to be done
(task cards and subtasks), resources needed to perform the work (person groups
and tool/equipment groups), material that will be utilized, and sign off requirements
for the task cards and subtasks.
Once you have finished planning the manual event, it can be connected to
a maintenance order. You can use the drop-down in the Order Number field
to select the maintenance order to which the manual event is to be assigned.
Note: manual events can also be assigned directly on a maintenance order
using the option Assign Events, from the Manage
Maintenance Order page or it can be assigned when creating a maintenance
order using the New Maintenance Order assistant.
The manual event is processed in the same way as other maintenance event
types, e.g., a work task is generated and any reported time and issued material
is transferred back to the event when the task is finished.
Prerequisites
- The serial must be in either the In Operation or Out Of Operation
status and should not be locked.
- If a work type is required, the work type must be specified for the
Manual Event event type in basic data.
- If the event is to be connected to a customer, the customer must be
registered.
Prerequisites for planning work on the event:
- If a task card is to be copied from the task library, the task card
must be in the Active status.
- The required resources must be registered. If the event is connected
to a maintenance order, the given resources must be valid for the maintenance
order site (i.e., the site of the workshop at which the maintenance order
is to be performed).
- The required inventory parts must be registered as engineering parts.
If the event is connected to a maintenance order, the given material must
be valid for the maintenance order site.
- The required certificates and certificate levels must be specified in
IFS Human Resources.
If the event is to be connected to a maintenance order:
- The maintenance order must be in one of the following statuses: Initial
Scope Definition, Under Preparation, Released or Started.
- The serial on the event must be the same or included in the structure
of the top serial on the maintenance order.
- The customer on the event must be the same as the customer on the maintenance
order.
System Effects
- The event is created in the New status and added to the pool
of pending maintenance events.
- Task cards, resources, material, and task card signatures can be planned
on the event.
- The event can be assigned to a maintenance order.
