Connect or Register Work Order
Explanation
This activity is used to connect an exiting work order to a project activity,
or to create and connect a work order to a project activity. Once connected,
planned and reported cost, revenues, hours and progress will be reported to
the activity through the cost elements.
Prerequisites
- The project must be in status Approved or Started.
- The project activity must be in status Planned or
Released.
- If connecting to an exiting work order, the work tasks on the work order
must not have any cost or invoicable sales lines.
- Manual Connection for work order must be set to Allowed.
System Effects
- A Work Order is created.
- Work Orders are connected to the project activity, and vice versa.
- Planned cost, revenue and hours from Work Orders will be reported to
the activity, through the cost/revenue elements.
- Actual cost, revenue, time and progress will be updated on the activity
when actions on the connected work orders are performed.
- The work order will appear as a connection on the Activity Monitoring
/ Project Connections.
- Connected work orders can be accessed from the activity.
