Change Maintenance Program and/or Maintenance Group for Structure
Explanation
This activity is used to change the maintenance program and/or the maintenance
group for all serials in a structure. Depending on your workflow, you can
perform this activity by selecting the option Change Maintenance Program,
from one of the following pages.
- Define Maintenance Program
- Manage Serial Structure
- Serial Structures
- Serials
- Vehicles
Following is a description of the information that can be entered in each
assistant step.
Step 1 - Maintenance Program Details
- Enter the new maintenance program revision and if you want to change
the maintenance group, enter the new maintenance group. Enable the Change
maintenance program for all serials in structure option if you want
to update all serials in the structure with the new maintenance program.
If you want to update all serials in the structure with the new maintenance
group, enable the Change maintenance group for all serials in the structure
option.
Step 2 - Serials lacking maintenance programs
- You can select one of the query options to filter the serials for which
you wish to update maintenance program information. The table will list
serials based on the query selection. Select one of the spread options to
enter or extend the maintenance program information to the listed serials.
- If you choose to extend the maintenance program and maintenance group
to all listed serials, ensure that the new maintenance program and the new
maintenance group is entered correctly.
- Click Spread, to spread the maintenance program and
maintenance group to all the records in the list. If you click Update
Serials, the serials will be updated with the new maintenance program
and group and these records will be removed from the list. If no manual
edits are required after spreading the data and before updating the serials,
click Spread and Update Serials.
Step 3 - Interval Maintenance for the Serials
- In here, you can enter or change the start values for the interval maintenance
of a serial(s) in the structure. This is useful for instance when the intervals
for the maintenance code on the old maintenance plan are different to the
intervals on the new maintenance plan and it is necessary to adjust the
interval maintenance values accordingly. The upper table displays the interval
maintenance for the primary operational parameters while the lower table
displays all secondary operational parameters corresponding to the primary
operational parameters.
- You can enter or change the total operational value for the part and
serial number for which you want to change interval maintenance values in
the Value At Maintenance field. Note: The following
conditions apply:
- If the value in this field does not match the maintenance interval
in the maintenance plan the system displays a message.
- The value in this field cannot exceed the value after overhaul for
the maintenance triggering operational parameters unless the maintenance
code has the calculation rule set to Special Case. In this case
the value cannot exceed the value total of the serial.
- When a value is entered in this field, values for the maintenance
date and correction value, are suggested automatically if the value
in the lowest interval for the maintenance code exceeds either the value
total (when the calculation rule is set to Special Case) or the
value after overhaul (Inspection, Overhaul and Replacement).
- You can also enter the total operational value of the serial at the
date of maintenance in the value total field.
Prerequisites
- A maintenance program that is valid for the part number, revision and
maintenance group of the serial must have been defined. This maintenance
program must be in the Active status.
- You need to have access to the serial and maintenance program you want
to work with.
- The maintenance group must exist for all serialized part numbers in
the structure before any changes are made. For more information, refer to
the activity
Define Maintenance
Group.
System Effects
- As a result of this activity, all serialized parts in the structure
are connected to the selected maintenance program and/or maintenance group.
- The due calculation for interval maintenance will run automatically
for the serial to calculate due dates and values.
