Create and Print Pre-Ship Delivery Notes
Explanation
When working with two-stage picking, this activity is used to create and
print pre-ship delivery notes for customer orders placed in shipment inventory.
These delivery notes are also used for packing of goods and are therefore printed
before the actual delivery.
The delivery note number will also be printed as a barcode on the delivery
note document, thus allowing the user to record the actual delivery of goods
by reading the barcode through a barcode scanner.
Prerequisites
- The Use Two-stage Picking option must be enabled on the
Customer Order/Order Details tab.
- Order lines must have been picked and the material placed in a shipment
location.
System Effects
- A delivery note is created and automatically printed per order and shipment
location, regardless of the pick lists used to pick them, as long as the
delivery address and ship via codes also match. This can be viewed in the
Report Archive
page.
- If order lines belonging to the same order are located in different
shipment inventories, they will be included in different delivery notes.
- The delivery note number is indicated in the
Customer Order
History page.
- All non-inventory order lines with a quantity to ship greater than zero
(0) will be included in the pre-ship delivery note of another inventory
sales part customer order line. However, be aware that this can have a strange
effect when lines from the same order are placed in different shipment locations.
- The delivery note can be scanned and reported as delivered.
