This activity is used to release an RMA. In the RMA header, click Release. The status on the RMA header is then updated from Planned to Released. This means that the RMA has been approved and is now available for other operations. You must release the RMA in order to be able to print the return note, to enter receipt and handling of the returned parts, and to create a credit invoice.
You may also release a specific RMA line.
Releasing the RMA includes authorization control. Therefore, when releasing a RMA or RMA line a coordinator must be specified on the RMA header.
Releasing the entire RMA:
The status on the RMA header is updated from Planned to Released. For all RMA lines with status Planned, the status will be updated to Released. If the site in the Return to Site field is different from the site which created the RMA, then a new RMA is created in the Planned status at the return site and that RMA number will be included in the Receipt RMA No field.
Releasing a RMA Line:
The status on the RMA line is updated from Planned to Released. If the RMA header status was Planned before releasing the RMA line, the header status will be changed to Released.
When a RMA line has been released, it is possible to print the return note, to enter receipt and handling of the returned parts and to create a credit invoice.
