Reserve Manually

Explanation

A shipment order line can be reserved manually on the shipment order. This can be useful when the reservation has to be done before a shipment is connected to the shipment order line.

The available warehouses is dependent on the sender on the shipment order.

• If the sender is a site, all applicable warehouses in the site will be available.
• If the sender is a remote warehouse, only that warehouse is available.

Prerequisites

A manual reservation can be done when the shipment order line status is Planned, Released and In Progress. The status In progress indicates that the reservation has been done already. The shipment might have a pick list created already, making it impossible to change the reservation.

The shipment order line may be connected to a shipment when the manual reservation is done.

System Effects

Depending on the shipment order status, the following will happen:

• If the shipment order is Planned, the shipment order line will go from Planned to In Progress. The shipment order will remain in Planned.
• If the shipment order is Released, the shipment order line will go from Released to In Progress. The shipment order will become In Progress.

This means that the shipment order can only become In Progress after it has been released, while the shipment order line can become In Progress when in Planned.
