Use this activity to return to stock an inventory part that has not been used for a work task. You can unissue material as long as the work task is not in status Reported or Finished.
To unissue a part, select the material line and click Unissue. In the Unissue Material dialog, enter the quantity of the part to be returned to inventory.
Note: If the part ordered on the work task has a cost other than the standard inventory cost, unused stock should be returned to inventory through a return instead of a material unissue. This is to ensure that the costs on a work task are updated correctly. For an example, read more in the activity description for returning material.
As a result of this activity, the material is unissued and the costs on the work task is updated. It will create a cost line with Transaction source Inventory in Work Task/Cost tab.
