Connect Additional Parts to Design Object

Explanation

This activity is used to manually connect additional parts to a design object as opposed to automatically inheriting additional parts as described in the Inherit Additional Parts from Design Part activity.  These additional parts are considered to be the material requirements for purchasing, maintenance, fabrication and assembly activities. Individual requirements are identified by different quantity values registered along with the additional parts. This activity can be performed in Additional Parts page or Design Object page Additional Parts tab.

As a condition to connect an additional part to a object, the object's class must allow additional parts. It is possible to connect two or more additional parts with the same Design Part ID as long as their Object Part, Drawing No, Drawing Position ID or Note field information differs. Additional parts may be transferred along with their object to IFS/Equipment when the design object's design status is changed. Once the object is transferred to IFS/Equipment, additional parts become spare parts.

Prerequisites

The object's class must allow additional parts as defined in its Class Relations.

System Effects

An additional part is connected to a design object. If a valid project connection exists, these additional parts automatically insert records for  ERMPL demands.
