Create Functional Object Structure

Explanation

This activity is used to create a functional object structure. This can be done either by adding a functional parent to an object or defining a functional child for an object. A functional structure arranges design objects in terms of logical placement, such as facility, plants, area, system, and sub-system, which lie atop real design objects such as pumps, motors and tanks. Most paper, energy, and chemical process plants have some kind of functional plant structure, often with a built-in equipment numbering system identifying each individual item within the facility. Upon the required status changes, a completed functional object structure can directly be transferred and made available for operations and maintenance. This can be performed in Design Object, Design Objects page or Explore Design Objects page.

Prerequisites

Class relations using the functional connection type must be configured to enable functional structures to be created.

System Effects
