Define Assortment

Explanation

This activity is used to define an assortment and assortment levels.

Assortment levels are used to decide where a node is placed within an assortment structure. When you create a node, it will be assigned to a level based on where you create it within the assortment structure. There may be a number of levels within an assortment. When you move a part within the structure the level will be re-assigned accordingly.

It is possible to define a classification standard for the assortment. One active assortment can have only one classification standard. If the assortment is in the Active status and if you need to change it back to Planned status, it is only possible to do so if the assortment is not connected to a customer. An active assortment can be closed, provided that it is not connected to a customer. If it is already connected to customer, an error message will appear.

The part search on the Assortment page provides the ability to find whether a part exists in a specific assortment and where it exists. This is very helpful when the assortment has a large structure with many parts.
