Define Location with Location Category Location

Explanation

This activity is used to define a location with Location Category Location if the REQMGT Component (i.e. the Request Management solution) is enabled. Locations are used to represent the geographical location of a particular item, for example an Equipment Object, a Work Order, or a Request.

 If the Location Category is Location,

• Only Location as Party Type is allowed.
• Only one address line is allowed as Type Visit Address.

The map position for the location is retrieved automatically when a Visit Assress is created. This map position is inherited by connected Equipments, Service Requests and Requests. If Request Management solution(Component REQMGT) is enabled, a Location with Location Category Location is created and a Map Position is retrieved when a new general location is created.

System Effects

As a result of this Activity,

• A location with Location Category Location is defined,that can be used to represent the location of an Equipment Object, Service Request/Work Order, or a Request.
• Map Position is automatically retrieved for the Location. The Visit Address per location can be used for map positioning.
