Define Condition Codes

Explanation

Use this activity to define condition codes for use with serial and/or lot/batch tracked parts. Condition codes are user-defined values which are used to indicate the condition of the selected part. Codes can be defined, for example, for new, rebuilt, repaired, unserviceable, or a variety of other conditions.

When defining condition codes, optionally you can associate part availability control parameters with the condition code. Select the desired availability control ID, using the List of Values in the Part Availability Control field. The associated description will automatically appear in the Part Availability Control Description field. To set / change the default condition code, you can change the value in Default Condition Code field. Only one condition code can be selected as the default condition code.

System Effects

The values entered on the Part Condition Codes page will be used to indicate the condition of serial and lot/batch tracked parts for which condition code functionality is enabled. Only the values entered in this tab will be available in the List of Values in various pages and tabs throughout IFS Cloud. One of the entered condition codes will appear as the default. Once a code has been connected to any part record, it cannot be removed. The description and values for the other fields can be modified, however.

Condition code values can be changed for serial and lot/batch tracked parts in only a limited number of pages. In most pages, the condition code value cannot be modified.
