Define Rental Modes

Explanation

This activity is used to define rental modes. Modes are used to define the usage of a rental asset when starting a rental or entering a rental event. In addition, the mode allows you to vary the price charged for the asset by using a price factor (a percentage), where the price factor will be multiplied with the line price.

When using a mode on a rental event, the Mode ID will be stored in the Rental Events History so it can be reviewed for follow-up purposes.

One of the modes is defined as the Default Mode. This default mode will be suggested when entering a rental event, but the user can select from any of the modes in the basic data. To change the default mode, right-click and then click Set as Default Mode.
Typical examples of modes could be e.g., Transport and In Operation, where transportation of the asset may be charged at a lower rate than when in operation. Other examples could include e.g. Dirty Environment, Two Shifts or Stand-down to allow the user to increase or reduce the price based on the mode used.
