Adjust Configuration Price

Explanation

This activity is used to adjust the characteristic prices after the initial pricing calculation at configuration creation. Adjust Price allows you to change Price of all or few eligible characteristics directly, or as a result of an offset for characteristic groups or total part price.

Eligible characteristics are characteristics for which, Override Allowed option is enabled in Sales Part/Configuration Base Pricing or Configuration Price List, Price Freeze option is disabled, and the Price is greater than the minimum allowed price as per Max Override (%).

Four commands are available for price adjustments and they are placed in Edit Configuration and Edit Configuration Pricing under sub command list Adjust Price.

Use Adjust All Characteristic Prices to offset all characteristic prices by a single offset amount or an offset percentage. If an offset amount of 1000 USD is used, all characteristic prices will get a 1000 USD increase, and if an offset percentage of -10% is used, all characteristic prices will be reduced by a 10%.

Use Adjust Characteristic Prices by Group to offset a characteristic group by an offset amount or an offset percentage. Imagine Group A contains 3 configuration characteristics, and the total price of the characteristics in the group is 10000 USD. You can set the new group price of Group A as 9000 USD, use an offset amount of -1000 USD, or use an offset percentage of -10% to get the same result. In all three cases, the price difference of 1000USD will be distributed among the three characteristics in the group proportionately to the characteristic price.

Use Adjust Total Price to offset the total part price of the configured part by an offset amount or an offset percentage. Imagine a configured part with the total price of 20000 USD. You can set the new group price of Group A as 18000 USD, use an offset amount of -2000 USD, or use an offset percentage of -10% to get the same result. In all three cases, the price difference of 2000USD will be distributed among the connected characteristics proportionately to the characteristic price.

Use Clear Price Adjustments to remove the changes done by three types of adjustments done above. Once an adjusted price is manually modified, it will no longer be considered as an adjusted price. Hence, Clear Price Adjustments will not remove any price modification done using Price Details or Edit Configuration Pricing.

If you need to exclude the price of a certain characteristics from getting new prices after price adjustments, then you can disable Allow Override option in Sales Part/Configuration Based Pricing or Configuration Price List where prices of each characteristic or option is defined. It is also possible to limit the price reduction by defining a Max Override (%) at the same basic data page.
