This activity is used to enter wage classes. A wage class is used to distribute wage code dependent information in case you have more than one payroll system that integrates to the Schedules and Rules component. Enter one wage class for each payroll system. At least one wage class must be entered.
Wage class can also be used in case you would like to divide the schedules and rules basic data for some other reason than having several payroll systems. E.g., you may have different HR or payroll personnel managing the schedules and rules basic data for different employee categories. In this case the wage class can be used to keep the basic data separated so that each responsible only have to see their own data.
Basic data concerning wage codes, working hours schedules, increments, rules etc., are dependent on the wage class. The page title bar displays the wage classes within which you are currently working. When logging into IFS Cloud, you will be set up to work in your own wage class by default, i.e., the wage class connected to you in the Employee Schedules and Rules page.
In the Change Wage Class option, you can select the wage class with which you want to work. This implies that you have several wage classes defined. You can change this by using the drop down list in the title bar in the application. You can have several basic data pages, for different wage classes, open at the same time and switch between them. Remember to check the title bar to verify that you are in the right wage class.
There are no prerequisites
As a result of this activity, you will be able to enter wage codes. Selecting the Long Wage Code option in the Wage Classes pages lets you enter wage codes with up to 10 characters. If you do not select the option, the wage code field will only allow a maximum of four characters.
