Create Milestone Template

Explanation

This activity is used to create a milestone template. A milestone template can consist of one or more milestones. Each milestone is defined with percentage values and these values will be used to set the progress of a design object. For example, a milestone can be defined with a cumulative progress of 100% which can be used when design is completed on a design object.

The following conditions need to be fulfilled when you define a milestone on a milestone template:

Furthermore, it will be possible to automatically update milestone values when the design status of an object changes. The following example illustrates this in detail:

Assume a milestone template X(X) exists and includes a milestone numbered 4. This milestone is defined with a progress percentage value of 100% and the Set Completed design status. This milestone template is connected to the design object Y(Y). When the status of the object is changed to Set Completed the milestone 4 will appear automatically on the object.

If a milestone exists with a progress value of 0%, the milestone value is automatically updated on the object when the status is set to the Redesign status. If this milestone does not exist the progress will not receive any value (NULL) when the status of the object is changed to Redesign.
