Finish Maintenance Order

Explanation

This activity is used to manually finish a maintenance order.

Note: It is also possible to automatically set a maintenance order to the Finished status. To enable this automatic status-change you need to enable the Automatically Finish Order option on the maintenance order. When this option is enabled, the status of the maintenance order is set automatically to Finished when the last connected event on the order is set to either the Finished or Cancelled status.

If you want a snapshot of the maintenance order taken when finishing the order, enable the Create Snapshot of Maintenance Order option. To remove invalid transactions in the structure change log when the maintenance order is finished, enable the Remove Invalid Structure Change Log records option. If the Duplicate Structure Change Log records exist option is enabled, duplicate transactions exist in the structure change log. Duplicate records must be manually handled before finishing the maintenance order, otherwise they will remain on the historical maintenance order as duplicate log transactions.

When a maintenance order is loaded using the Heavy Maintenance Work Scope Loader page, the scope of the maintenance order will typically go through many revisions before it is finalized. For each revision applied to the maintenance order, all removed maintenance events from the previous revision will be canceled. The canceled maintenance events will end up as pending events and remain in the system. When the maintenance order is finished, there may be several pending events that was not part of the final work scope. Depending on the needs, these pending events may be kept for a later shop visit, or removed if not to be executed. To handle automatic removal of the pending events, select the Remove obsolete loaded maintenance events option. Note: This option is only visible for a maintenance order that has been loaded.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the maintenance order is finished and moved to history. If an Execution Logic Structure (ELS) has been created for the maintenance order, this ELS will be removed when the maintenance order is finished.
