Verify Release to Service
Explanation
This activity is used to verify the release to service of a maintenance order.
In addition to release to service sign off requirements, there can be requirements
for a counter release to service sign off for the maintenance order. This serves
as a second and confirming signature for a maintenance order already signed
off. The following rules apply when signing off a maintenance order:
- If sign off requirements with both the Release to Service and
Counter Release to Service requirement types are defined on the maintenance
order, two different persons are required to sign off the maintenance order.
- If a certificate has been defined for the counter release to service
sign off requirements on the maintenance order, the person signing off the
maintenance order must have the necessary qualifications to perform the
sign off. Note: If a certificate is not used for the counter release
to service sign off requirements when signing off, the identity of the person
performing the sign off is retained but validations will not be performed.
- When signing off a maintenance order where more than one signature requirement
has been defined for the same requirement type, only one signature can be
specified and the person signing off must have all certificates required.
Prerequisites
To perform this activity, a maintenance order with counter release to service
sign off requirements must exist on the maintenance order. The maintenance order
must be in the Work Done status.
System Effects
- The maintenance order is signed off.
- The ID of the person who performed the sign off and the date of signing
off is entered automatically on the sign off requirement.
- Counter release to service sign off information on the maintenance order
will be retained in history.
