Create New CRO from Heavy Maintenance Returns

Explanation

Heavy maintenance returns may need to be repaired based on different part provisioning rules defined for part/part groups in the service contract and may need to be installed back at the vehicle once the repair process is completed. Create Repair and Material Lines assistant can be used to create component repair order lines to facilitate the repair of parts, work task material lines to facilitate installation of parts and link repair line to material line when the same part is required to be installed after repair.

Enable Create New CRO Header option to create a new component repair order for repair of selected heavy maintenance returns. You can specify directive, coordinator, priority, start date and the latest completion date. When entering a new component repair order, default values are retrieved for site, reported by, entry date and customer. Customer is retrieved from the maintenance order of selected return lines. It is not possible to handle services of components owned by different customers on the same component repair order.

On the Return Lines section, the following information retrieves default values from service contract: part supply option, part provisioning rule, repair order type and preferred service supplier. You can change the default value. You can also specify a fault type which might be helpful when preparing the work and for troubleshooting and repair.

You can enable Group Repairs to create a single CRO repair for multiple return lines if you want to execute the repairs of parts returned from multiple return lines in a single repair order. Grouping is done based on part number, part ownership, condition code, fault type, preferred service supplier, repair order type, CRO number and CRO line number.

As a result of this activity, a new component repair order with source type Maintenance Order is created in Planned status. New CRO repair lines are created for the return lines with part supply option Repair. If the parts have already been returned to the inventory from the return line, they are reserved to the CRO repair line.
