Copy Document Title
Explanation
Use this activity to copy a document title and create a new document title.
The Copy Document Title assistant can
be used to copy document titles.
It is possible to select the data that should be copied to the new document
by selecting following options.
- Copy Structure: If the old document has sub-documents those documents
will be copied to the new document as sub-documents.
- Copy File: If the old document has a file checked in, that file
will be copied.
- Copy Approval Routing: If the old document has an approval routing,
that will be copied.
- Copy Access: Copies all the access records in
Document Revision/Access tab of the latest
revision of each sheet to the new revisions created. Object controlled access
lines will be handled by the object connection.
- Copy Field Values: The values in Note, ISO Classification and
Confidential fields in Document Revision/Title
tab; Description fields in Document Revision/Sheets/Descriptions
tab; Note, Scale, Reason for Issue in Document
Revision/General tab and Alternate Document Number field will
be copied.
- Copy Object Connections: If the old document has connected objects,
those object connections will be copied.
- Copy Correspondence Info: Copies the Correspondence information
in Document Revision/Correspondence tab.
Prerequisites
You must have (at a minimum) view access to each of the files that are copied
from the source document title. If you don't have at least view access to each
file, you can still copy the document title, but the Copy File option
in the Copy Document Title
assistant cannot be selected.
You will not see documents protected
with the Restricted Access if you do not
have view access granted to them.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a new document title is created from the source
document title. If the current document title has several sheets, new document
will be created with same number of sheets. The data copied to the new document
will be taken from the latest revisions of the corresponding sheets.
