This assistant can be used to move files in a repository in status Usable to a repository in status Generating. The transfer process occurs through a background job and the execution is run as the Application owner user. Therefore, the Application owner user must have Docman Administrator privileges as a pre-requisite for the transfer.
Use step 1 to define the repository details. If the assistant is launched from the navigator, then it is possible to select which repository to move from and which repository to move to. If the assistant is launched through the Repositories page, it is not possible to select which repository you can move from. This will be automatically selected depending on which repository you launch the assistant from. The Move From Repository section has default list of repositories which are in Usable state. The Move to Repository section has default list of repositories which are in Generating state. When the repository ID is selected, the rest of the values are automatically updated.
Use step 2 to select which document classes should be moved. The class or classes that are available within the selected move from repository will be listed here. If the selected repository is setup with the document class *, then it will list all document classes, except those that are linked against other repositories. The Quantity field will show the total amount of files that will be moved from the old repository to the new one.
Once you select the document classes and click Finish, a background job will be executed for the transfer. The details of the transfer can be observed in the corresponding application messages posted for each file transfer in the DOCMAN_REPO_TRANSFER queue.
Note: Currently, the transfer documents functionality is only available between Database and File Storage type repositories.
