This activity is used to connect a configuration characteristic to one or more configuration families. You can also connect the configuration characteristic to one or more part configuration revisions.
Connecting a configuration characteristic to one or more configuration families or part configuration revisions is done using the Connect Characteristic assistant. To access the assistant from the:
Connecting one or more configuration characteristics to one or more configuration families or part configuration revisions at once can also be done using the Connect Characteristic assistant which can be accessed from Configuration Characteristics page.
In the Configuration Families step in the assistant enable the Connect setting for the required configuration families in order to connect the characteristic to those families. In the Part Configuration Revisions step in the assistant enable the Connect setting for the required part configuration revisions in order to connect the characteristic to those part configuration revisions.
Note: If the configuration characteristic has configuration value type Package, then the package content characteristics and option values for component characteristic must exist in new configuration family and/or part configuration revision.
As a result of this activity, the configuration characteristic along with its option values is connected to the given configuration family and/or part configuration revision.
