Choose Existing Company
Explanation
Use this activity to specify the identity of an existing company to be used
as source when creating a new company. Any previously created company can be
used as source.
Prerequisites
- The company identity, company name, and type of company must have been
previously defined.
System Effects
- The specified company will be used by all components supporting the
Create Company Process using an existing company to create company relevant
basic data in these components.
- Components that do not support the Create Company Process using an existing
company will use so-called default company data (if available) to create
company relevant basic data. This is typically the case when an installation
consists of a mix of components from different IFS baselines.
- If the installation consists of a mix of components from different IFS
baselines that support the Create Company process in different ways, then
a message box will appear to notify the user of this situation. The creation
of a company may in this case result in inconsistency and errors.
- The company will always be created even if the selected template
is not consistent with the business logic of the Application.
