This activity is used to create a work type identity. A work type is used to indicate what kind of work should be performed on a work order such as Preventive Maintenance, Lubrication, Repair, Shutdown etc.
The work type is very central in IFS/Service Management, where on a service contract you use work types to specify what type of services the customer is entitled to.
Enable Postponement Reason set on a work type allows you to mark if a certain work task of this work type needs a reason when the current Latest Finish date is advanced.

As a result of this activity, the work type can be defined on Fault Reports, Service Requests, Work Orders, as well as Standard Tasks. The work type can also be used as a selection term in queries.
