Define Derived Units from a Base Unit

Explanation

Use this activity to view the list of predefined or user-defined units derived from a selected base unit, or to enter new user-defined units that are derived from a selected base unit from Unit Relationships - Derived page . This optional task is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person. You can later view all units you enter in this page in the Units of Measure page.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• For predefined base units, the Used in Application option must be selected in the ISO Code Usage/Unit of Measure. 
• User-defined base units must be exist in the Unit Relationships/Base page.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• If viewing derived units, all units derived from a selected base unit will be displayed. 
• If creating a user-defined unit, a new user-defined unit derived from the selected base unit will be created.
