Set Part Revision Obsolete
Explanation
Use the Set To Obsolete command to change the status of a part going
out of production to Obsolete. The part revision will still be present
in the database, but can be deleted if wanted. Note that changing a part status
to Obsolete is irreversible.
Prerequisites
The part exists.
System Effects
- The part revision can be deleted.
- The part revision can no longer be used in new part structures.
- The part revision is time-stamped with the status change date.
- A new line is added in the revision journal.
- The document survey is Unlocked, to allow modification and deletion.
- Records can be deleted from the approval routing and document requirements.
- Lines can be deleted from the structure, even for parts set to Active.
