Evaluate and Add Modification Events to the Work Scope
Explanation
This activity is used to add one or more modifications to a work scope. Usually
the mandatory modifications, due modifications, and modifications included in
the customer baseline (i.e., those which have not been complied with as yet)
are transferred to the work scope. Apart from the mandatory modifications and
due modifications, you can choose the modifications you want added to the work
scope. For instance, if a modification which is not due nor assigned to a serial
exists, and this modification is applicable for a particular serial, you can
choose to add the modification to the work scope, as per your requirements.
To add modifications to a work scope, click Assign Events to Work
Scope in the Manage Work Scope Events page.
In the Modifications step of the assistant, select
a suitable filter to populate modifications in the list. You can view modifications
assigned to the overhaul object and its structure and modifications included
in the baseline. The list will also include modification not yet due (where
pending maintenance events are not yet generated for the modifications). Following
options can be used to include modifications to the work scope:
- Manually add events to work scope, by enabling the Include in
Work Scope option for the required modification and then clicking
Assign Selected Events or clicking Finish.
- Click Select Mandatory Modifications to add all mandatory
modifications to the work scope. Modifications with category Mandatory
in the list will be selected automatically. Then click
Assign Selected Events or Finish.
- Click Select Baseline Modifications to add all modifications included
in the baseline to the work scope. Modifications with the Included in Baseline
option enabled in the list will be selected automatically. Then click
Assign Selected Events or Finish.
- Search for events based on your requirements, e.g., modification type,
then click Select all Queried Modifications to automatically
select the records. Then click Assign Selected Events or
Finish.
To view modifications that have been previously complied with for the overhaul
object and its structure, click the Manage Work Scope Events/PCW
Modifications tab. If you want to create a decomply event, select
the relevant modification in this tab and click New Event for Decompliance.
To remove a modification from the work scope, select the relevant modification
in the Included Mx Events tab and click Remove
Events from Work Scope.
Note: Only one revision of the modification can be included in the
current or any other ongoing work scope for the overhaul object and its structure.
To include a new revision of the modification, the previous revision must either
be removed or canceled from the relevant work scope.
Prerequisites
- The modification should not be complied with.
- The modification must be applicable for the serial part.
- The customers modification baseline must be defined in the
Shop Visit Defaults/Modification Baseline
tab.
- The due calculation for modification events must be run to define pending
events.
- To add a new revision of a modification, a previous revision should
not be included in the current or any other ongoing work scope for the overhaul
object.
System Effects
- The modification events are included in the work scope and will be available
for the work scope planning. This can be verified in the
Define Work Scope/Work Scope Mx Events tab.
- The Changes Part Number option is enabled for modifications that result
in part number changes of affected parts. For a single affected part only
one such modification can be assigned. An error will be raised when including
modifications to the work scope, if more than one part number change modifications
are included for a single affected part.
