Update Affected Serials for Existing Events
Explanation
This
activity is used to update affected parts in the work scope due to removed and
added serials on the affected part level during disassembly. When different
serials are found than expected (DPF, different part found scenario) on serials
having maintenance events included in the work scope, the removal of the events
for this serial will handle removal of affected parts for the events as well.
However, when a DPF occurs on the affected part level, this activity makes it
easy for you to identify the affected parts that are no longer part of the work
scope and update affected parts for one or several maintenance events.
This activity is only applicable for modification events. Since the assigned
and affected part/serials is always the same for the life limited events, affected
parts update is handled by removing superfluous events for the serials removed
from the work scope, and evaluating and adding new events for the serials added
to the work scope.
To automatically update affected parts, go to the Manage Work
Scope Events/Affected Parts Update tab. Click Update Affected
Parts for the relevant entries. In the parent list, all modifications
included in the work scope that requires an update of affected parts is displayed.
In the child list, all affected parts currently included in the work scope for
the event is displayed. Note: If the received DPF is an alternate of
the expected part the child list will not be populated with any affected part
details. The maintenance event for the alternate will be added once the update
of affected parts is completed. When Update Affected Parts
is performed, affected parts that are no longer part of the work scope will
be removed and affected parts added to the work scope will be included. The
Removed from Work Scope option can be used to identify the parts that have
been updated to the work scope.
To manually update affected parts, go the the Manage Work
Scope Events/Included Mx Events tab. Find the modification that
has changed its affected part.
Click Remove Event from Work Scope. Then use the
Assign Maintenance Events to Work Scope assistant to add the
modification back into the work scope. Verify that the affected serials have
been updated correctly.
Prerequisites
- A running work scope with included events that have an affected part
definition.
- A structural change during disassembly on a level not yet disassembled
or a different part found scenario forcing an update of the planned disassembly
structure.
- Maintenance events (modifications) that have an affected parts definition
that changes the affected serials after the structural update.
System Effects
The work scope is updated with the correct affected parts based on what has
been disassembled from the serial structure.
