Define Work Planning and Scheduling Dataset

 

Explanation

This activity is used to define the Work Planning and Scheduling Dataset that will be used within an organization to transfer data to the Scheduling Engine. A dataset will contain information on how data should be scheduled, such as the scheduling horizon and minimum plan quality.

The time horizon for which the data should be transferred and scheduled should be entered in days. For example, if the number of days is set to 7, all Work Tasks, Part stock related data and Resource related data for the site(s), that should be scheduled within the given time interval (7 days in this example) will be sent to and scheduled by the Scheduling Engine.

Following is a list of data that will be transferred for scheduling from the relevant Site(s):

• Scheduling Resources with shifts and skills
• Work Tasks with Resource and Material requirements
• Availability information of Material required for Work Tasks

Prerequisites

• All Work Tasks expected to be scheduled within the dataset must have the Earliest Start Date and the Latest Finish Date.
• The User running the dataset must have access to dataset Site(s).
• The User "ifsscheduling" must have access to the dataset Site(s).

System Effects

• A Work Planning and Scheduling Dataset is setup.
• Parameters are defined to run the scheduling process.
