The purpose of an isolation is to provide a template for new isolation orders, so that establishment and re-establishment instructions do not have to be entered manually each time an isolation order is created. The isolation also ensures that the isolation orders are defined according to a certain standard.
On an isolation you define how part of a facility should be shut down and started up again, so that maintenance work can be carried out under safe conditions. The establishment instructions on the isolation defines in what sequence the equipment objects or linear assets should be shut down, and if the equipment object or linear asset should be in a certain position (i.e., reduced speed etc). The re-establishment instructions define in what sequence the equipment objects or linear assets should be started up again, and in which position the equipment object or linear asset should be in (e.g., started, full speed etc).
Note: In order to define what position the equipment object should be in when entering establishment or re-establishment instructions, a position type (that holds the positions) must have been defined for the object type (of the associated equipment object). In order to define what position the linear asset should be in when entering establishment or re-establishment instructions, a position type (that holds the positions) must have been defined for the linear asset type (of the associated linear asset)
To create isolation orders from isolations, the Isolation has to be approved. It can also be disapproved (unapproved) at any given time in order to make amendments.
