Make Maintenance Aware

Explanation

This activity is used to set a serial part stored in inventory to Maintenance Aware, thereby making it possible to carry out maintenance tasks on serial parts which are not yet located in the facility. Such objects are moved to inventory, or delivered from IFS/Plant Design.

This can be performed in Serial Maintenance Aware page by quering the relevent part and choosing Make Maintenance Aware option or clicking on the button.

Prerequisites

• The Inventory Serial Tracking option must be enabled in Part for the particular part.
• Inventory part must be created and received in Inventory.
• A planner identity must exist in Inventory Basic Data.
• A unit must exist in Maintenance Basic Data/Units.

System Effects

As a result of this activity the you will be able to perform maintenance on parts in inventory.
