Calculate
Explanation
To calculate costs, contingency and markups for an item, version or all
the versions of an estimate, click Calculate. The costs
inherited from part cost are not re-calculated in cost calculation but any
insecurities added on inherited costs are added and rolled up to the parent
level during calculation.
Before a calculation is performed it is possible to define whether the
standard lot size can be ignored for product items with part type
Manufactured, i.e. standard lot sizes are not considered at all,
and an order calculation will be performed. There is also an option to
define whether all overridden values set for cost elements at different
levels of the tree structure shall be removed and excluded from the
calculation.
Prerequisites
- Default cost elements must be assigned for the estimate cost types
on the Estimate Cost Type Connections page.
- The items should be active for the costs to be calculated.
- Currency conversion rates should exist in the estimate or in company
default currency rate type for the header currency (if the header
currency is different from default currency code of the company) and
currencies that used in purchase quotations.
System Effects
- As a result of this activity level and accumulated costs,
insecurities and markups of the items are calculated.
- Work center costs, labor class costs and currency conversion rates
are retrieved.
- Result logs are generated for potential issues in the cost
calculations if Generate Log option is selected for the
calculation.
- Items will be set to Calculated status.
