The Find and Connect functionality is used in Export Control to locate and match existing export licenses, and to connect them to an order.
When following order flows, the need for licenses is indicated by an event proposing the user to open the Find and Connect Export License page. This page allows the user to match and find the licenses needed for the order parts and its components, either identified by a product structure, or by a possible component list. It is possible to open this page from the navigator, and data can be entered to search for license(s) manually.
The functionality works by matching the information of a given order line and the criteria seen on the Supplier, Customer, Forwarder and End Use tabs against those entered on licenses. Any matched existing licenses will then be shown in the expandable license tree structure or in the Available License Connections tab, from where a connection to the order can be made. Connection log that is made automatically by the system when running the find and connect export license can be views in the Connection Log tab. The logs should be reviewed and resolved before connecting any license.
The Find and Connect functionality is useful in efficiently finding out if a certain part requires a license or not, and if so, in locating the required license.
When a license is connected to an order, the system will then update the quantity and amount fields on the export license Coverage tab due to the status changes when the order is progressing.
Matching Part and Export License
The part, on the part catalog and on the supplier for purchase part, must
be export-controlled with an identified and approved export control code, and
the export license must be approved with valid effective date and a Coverage
tab that match the part settings, and with Site, Supplier,
Customer, Forwarder, End User and
End Usage data that matches the corresponding data as identified
in the find and connect export license.
Tips: Initially
a % sign could be used on the Export License Restrictions
page to indicate any value, just to make sure that the license is found and
then adding more and more restrictions by replacing the % sign with wanted values.
