A fault is raised on the discovery of a problem and is sometimes referred to as a non-routine, finding, or discrepancy. Faults are found and raised by the flight crew during flights, inspections, and by technicians while maintenance work is being performed. A fault is assessed, and either deferred or repaired.
You can raise a fault from the Raise Fault page
and the Aircraft Turn Details page. If the fault
is raised from the Aircraft Turn Details page, the
aircraft against which it is raised is set to the aircraft on the turn and
the Found During Flight is set to the last arrival flight for the aircraft.
If the fault is created from the Raise Fault page,
the aircraft that the fault was detected on must be selected, while the
Found During Flight can be set to the last arrival flight for the aircraft.
Once a fault has been created information for the fault can be
updated, before the fault has been closed, on the Task Details or
Fault Details page.
