Enter Service Resource Group
Explanation
Perform this activity to create a service resource group. A service
resource group is used for planning and scheduling purposes.
Resource
groups can be of different types:
- Crew Groups are used in service management and asset management to
plan and to allocate crews for different jobs.
- Person groups are crucial for planning people and often define a
group of persons that can perform the same type of job. The group can be
off different competencies within your business such as technicians,
electricians, welders, engineers, etc.
- Tool/equipment groups, like person groups, often define groups of
equipment that can be used to perform the same type of work.
A resource group can be connected to other resource groups and be
included in a resource structure.
When creating the service resource
group using the assistant, it is possible to enter the initial company, site
and maintenance organization where this resource group will be used. It is
also possible to define cost and sales information as well as qualifications
for the group.
A resource group created in the New Service Resource Group
assistant will automatically be set to Use in Service,
which means that it can be used for planning and scheduling in service
management.
