Set Post Maintenance Check Definition Active
Explanation
This activity is used to activate a post maintenance check (PMC) definition.
Only one revision of a PMC definition can be active at a point in time. If a
revision of the PMC definition is already active, it will be made obsolete when
you activate another revision of the definition.
Some updates may be done on an active PMC definition. These are, modifying
the intervals (operational and calendar) defined on assigned parts, adding or
removing part revisions from the definition, and adding or removing task cards
from the definition. When an active PMC definition is updated, a journal entry
is created automatically for the update.
The PMC definition can be connected to interval maintenance, convenience
tasks, life limits, condition limits, fault functions, faults, and modifications
reported against the part revision on the definition. The Maintenance
Event Codes per Post Maintenance Check page can be used to view
maintenance event codes to which the definition is connected:
- Interval Maintenance - Displays information on all maintenance programs,
maintenance codes and convenience tasks to which the definition is connected.
- Condition Limit - Displays information on all condition limits to which
the definition is connected.
- Modification - Displays information on all modifications to which the
definition is connected.
- Fault Function - Displays information on all fault functions to which
the definition is connected.
- Life Limit - Displays information on all life limits to which the definition
is connected.
Prerequisites
- A PMC definition in the Preliminary status must exist.
- One or more serial parts and revisions must have been assigned to the
PMC definition.
- Post maintenance intervals must have been defined for the assigned parts.
System Effects
- The PMC definition is activated. Only active PMC definitions can be
used to generate post maintenance checks.
- The active definition can be connected to interval maintenance, convenience
tasks, life limits, condition limits, fault functions, faults, and modifications
associated with the assigned part revision. Active definitions can also
be connected when reporting a fault (if not defined already for the fault
function) and while processing maintenance events.
- When the triggering maintenance event is finished, pending post maintenance
check events will be generated. Information on the post maintenance checks
generated for a definition can be viewed in the All PMCs
tab. The command View Referenced Maintenance Event can be used to
view additional information on the maintenance event that triggered the
post maintenance check.
- An entry is created in the PMC definition journal.
