Enter basic data for Putaway
Explanation
Warehouse attributes that regulates the putaway can be set for a specific
level in the warehouse structure i.e. site, warehouse, bay, row, tier and
bin. These values are used as a part of the putaway process when moving
parts in inventory. They are used to find the best available location for a
part. Based on the selected warehouse node, the fields displayed can be
different. Entered values are inherited down to the whole underlying
structure, unless deviating values are entered on lower levels.
Examples of attributes that can be entered are:
- General - block of receipts, hide from the Warehouse Navigator
display, block mix of part numbers or condition codes.
- Capacities and Conditions - width, height, depth, volume, weight,
temperature and humidity.
- Handling Unit Capacity - define that, as an example, only one pallet
will fit per location. If the capacity is exceeded, the location will
not be available for putaway. As soon as a location capacity exists for
a handling unit type and that handling unity type is moved there or
planned to be moved there, the location will be dedicated only for this
handling unit type. Then the location cannot be combined with parts not
packed into handling units or other handling unit types as top-level.
- Capabilities - if a location can handle explosive or flammable goods
or if there are different security levels used for locations.
Prerequisites
A warehouse structure and warehouse basic data need to be in place.
