Adjust Shop Order Lot Size to Demand
Explanation
Use this activity to automatically increase or decrease the lot size of a shop order
so that it covers all succeeding demands after the shop order due date/time
until the next supply. I.e., the shop order lot size is adjusted so that the
expected projected quantity on the date/time of the last demand before the
next supply is 0.
Only demands without peggings are considered.
The calculation will also consider below parameters set on the
Inventory Parts Intraday Availability page:
- Include Only Firm Supplies - Only supplies classified as firm
are considered. Firm supplies are shop orders, purchase order lines and similar. Non-firm
supplies such as purchase and shop order requisitions are ignored.
- Include Only Firm Demands - Only demands classified as firm
are considered. Firm demands are customer order lines, shop order
material lines and similar. Non-firm demands such as MRP planned demands
are ignored.
- Include Usable Qty in Balance - The usable on hand quantity
in stock is considered as the starting balance when calculating the
projected quantity, if cleared, the logic will use 0 as the starting
balance.
To adjust the lot size of a shop order to demand, first open the
Inventory Parts Intraday Availability page and expand the line for
the relevant part. Then select the shop order to adjust and click Adjust
Lot Size to Demand.
Prerequisites
- An open shop order not pegged to any demand with Demand Source set to Invent Order
must exist.
- The shop order type must not be Disassembly.
- The status of the shop order must be Planned, Released
or Reserved in order to decrease the lot size.
- A projected balance other than 0 on the date/time of the last demand
before the next supply after the selected shop order must exist
considering the above mentioned
parameters controlling the projected balance calculation.
System Effects
- The shop order will be updated with a new lot size and rescheduled.
