Use this activity to change the total manufactured quantity of a shop order. Changing the lot size will trigger a rescheduling of the order.
When a shop order pegged to a DOP the quantity and possible date change can be replicated based on the settings on the Site/Manufacturing page. If the quantity/date change is not replicated to the DOP order, quantity/date alarms are generated for the mismatch between the DOP order and the shop order.
To change the lot size from the Shop Order, Shop Orders or Production Line Management/Shop Orders pages, enter a new value in the Lot Size field.
To change the lot size from the Inventory Parts Intraday Availability page, expand the line for the relevant part and select the supply line from the shop order you want to update. Click Edit Shop Order and enter a new value in the Lot Size field.
- The shop order will be expanded or contracted according to changes to its scheduled time requirement as a result of changing the lot size. This will be done without changing the current start time of the shop order.
- If expanding an order causes the subsequent order to become tardy, the latter will be rescheduled by using its earliest possible start time as a constraint. If not, only its current start time will be used as a constraint when rescheduling it.
- In the case of a DOP structure, a tardy order will be considered only if it is at the highest level in the structure, not if it is at a lower level.
Note: However in the following situations, the scheduled start time is changed:
- If the expanded SO is scheduled in the past before expanding.
- If the expanded SO affects a promised SO and cannot be scheduled before it.
