Connect Operation(s) to Operation Block
Explanation
Use this activity to connect one or several operations to an operation block.
To perform this activity from:
- Operation Block page, select the operations to connect from the
Available Operations tab and click Connect to
Operation Block.
- Machine Load, Labor Load, Machine Operations Scheduling
or
Labor Operations Scheduling charts, select the chart
segment(s) representing the relevant operations and click Connect to
Operation Block.
- Shop Order/Operations, Shop
Order Operations or Shop Floor
Workbench pages, select the operation(s) to connect, click
Operation Block and
then Connect.
In the Connect Operations to Operation Block
assistant:
- Enable the Connect option for the operations to include.
- Click Connect to Existing Operation Block and
select the operation block to connect the operation(s) to in the Op Block ID field.
- Optionally specify
the work center resource on which you prefer the operations in the operation
block to be performed.
- If the operations are planned to be executed in
parallel in the work center resource, the Block Resource Share
value will indicate how big share of the resource capacity the operations in
the block together will utilize.
Prerequisites
- An operation block must exist.
- A shop order operation not in status Cancelled or Closed
and not already connected to an operation block must exist
- Operation(s) to connect must be assigned to the same work center as
the operation block
- The shop order which to the operation to connect belongs must not already
have another operation connected to the operation block.
System Effects
- The selected operations will be connected to
the operation block.
- If the operation block has a Preferred Resource specified, this value
will also be set as the preferred resource on the operation(s) connected to
the operation block which will trigger a rescheduling of the operation(s).
