Create Inspection

Explanation

This activity is used to create an inspection item for a material review board (MRB) case. This allows the material review board members to record the inspection details in the MRB case.

First an inspection item with defined responsible person and required date is created using the new command on the Inspection tab. An inspection instruction can also be entered. Then click Select Parts to select the quantity of the particular part that needs to be inspected on the inspection item. If you enter an inspection quantity which is greater than the MRB quantity that is remained to be dispositioned, an error message will be displayed.

Prerequisites

• The MRB case must be in the In Process status.
• A disposition code has not yet been registered for the quantity of the particular part that should be inspected.

System Effects

• Inspection item with identified inspection part(s) that can be further processed is created.
• The values for the Creation Date and Created By fields will be automatically generated by the system.
