Use this activity to create a new disassembly component line for a shop order with either the same disassembly component part as the original line (split), or with an alternate disassembly component part (replace). This can be used when another component than the expected was identified during disassembly, and/or when the identified component has a different condition than specified on the original disassembly component line. You can also specify a unique lot/batch number for the new line and select whether it should be used as supply in MRP.
To split/replace a disassembly component, select a disassembly component line from Shop Order/Produced Parts, Shop Floor Workbench/Disassembly Components or Operation Guide, Disassembly Components section and click Split/Replace. In the Split/Replace Disassembly Component dialog, create a new record and enter the quantity and the part number of the new disassembly component line. When applicable you can also enter/edit the Lot/Batch No, Condition Code and Use as Supply in MRP fields.
As a result of this activity, a new disassembly component line with the chosen quantity and attributes will be created for the shop order. The quantity of the original disassembly component line will be decreased accordingly. Cost distribution factors will be divided according to the split quantity.
