Delete Old Journal Entries
Explanation
Use this activity to remove journal entries for a serial structure
template and a given date interval. The deletion affects all entries for the
given structure position. If no structure position is given, the deletion
affects all structure positions in the given template for a given time
frame. The removal of journal entries is irreversible.
The journal is created for parts in a template structure. The following are
causes for the creation of a journal record.
- When a part is connected or disconnected in a structure.
- When a serial structure template is activated (change state from
Preliminary to Active).
- When a serial structure template is set obsolete (change state from
Active to Obsolete).
- When the prime part of a structure position is changed.
- When the minimum configuration setting is reversed in an active structure.
- When a structure position is introduced in a structure.
- When a structure position is removed from a structure.
- When a template alternate is introduced or removed in a structure.
- When a position alternate is introduced or removed in a structure.
- When a dependency is added or removed in a structure.
- When a function is added or removed in a structure.
- When the structure position information of a position part is updated.
Prerequisites
Journal entry records must have been generated for the template part.
System Effects
Journal entries for a selected structure position or all structure positions
in a given structure template are deleted for a given time frame.
