Establish Maintenance Data for a Template Structure
Explanation
This activity is used to establish operational parameters and maintenance
groups for the serial parts of a template structure. The different options available
in this activity are also available as separate activities that operate on single
serial parts. This activity is useful when introducing a new type of material
(i.e., new part revision, new product and model) or when modifying existing
template structures. The maintenance data you enter can be extended to all the
parts of a structure, thereby simplifying the task at hand.
The following options are available within this activity:
- Create new operational parameters for several or all the serial parts
within a template structure.
- Create new maintenance groups for several or all the serial parts within
a template structure.
- Establish or modify certain data elements for operational parameters
per maintenance group. The data elements that can be specified are the maximum
value and all the average operational values. In addition, the sorting code
can be given to indicate the order in which the operational parameters are
to be measured. The Due Info Sorting field is used to indicate which
5 operational parameters should be displayed when due information is presented.
Sorting numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 must be used to indicate this.
- Remove operational parameters from serial parts in the template structure.
- Remove maintenance groups from serial parts in the template structure.
This activity can be performed from the Establish Maintenance
Data for Template Structure page. Select the options that reflects
the change you want to make. It is recommended to read the information given
in the assistant steps.
Prerequisites
- Serial parts need to exist.
- The serial parts for which you want to establish data must exist in
a serial structure template.
- Basic data for the operational parameters must have been defined.
- To create a maintenance group for a template structure, at least the
primary operational parameter must have been defined for all the serial
parts in the structure.
- To establish or modify operational parameters per maintenance group,
the maintenance group needs to exist for the serial parts in the structure.
System Effects
- Maintenance data can be viewed for the template structure in the
Maintenance Data per Template Structure page.
Select the required part and expand the list to view connected operational
parameters, maintenance groups, and operational parameter information per
maintenance group.
The system effects of creating operational parameters are:
- For life limited parts, it is possible to define life limits for the
entered operational parameters.
- When adding new operational parameters, any maintenance group defined
for the part is updated with the new operational parameter.
- You can register operational log data for all of the serials belonging
to a registered part number and maintenance group.
System effects of creating a maintenance group are:
- Interval
maintenance and maintenance plans can be defined.
System effects of establishing or modifying operational parameters per maintenance
group are:
- You can register operational log data for all the serials belonging
to a registered part number and maintenance group.
