This activity is used to define an operational parameter as the primary operational parameter for a serial part. There can only be one primary operational parameter per serial part.
If maintenance groups are not defined for the serial part or if maintenance groups are defined but serials with operational loggings do not exist for these maintenance groups, it is possible to change the primary operational parameter of the serial part.
To perform this activity, operational parameters must be defined for the serial part.
The primary operational parameter is set for the serial part.
This primary operational parameter is the same for all maintenance groups of the serial part.
The primary operational parameter is used for calculating interval based maintenance events.
If maintenance plans are registered for other operational parameters in addition to the primary operational parameter, the due calculation considers all the operational parameters and calculates which operational parameter that is due first. When several operational parameters have a maintenance plan, any of the operational parameters, and not just the one defined as primary, can be the triggering operational parameter for the interval based maintenance.
If any of the other operational parameters have a maintenance plan, the primary operational parameter is not required to have a maintenance plan.
When registering a fault, the value after overhaul and the total value are logged for the primary operational parameter at the time that the fault occurred.
