This activity is used to enter forecasts for level 1 parts which affects the forecast consumption process and decrements forecast based on receipt of actual orders.
Forecasts are primarily consumed in a backward manner, starting from the
date corresponding to the customer need date or the original quoted shipment
date. If there is no remaining forecast for the date, the system consumes forecasts
for earlier dates. If there is not enough forecast to consume, forecast can
be consumed in a forward manner, starting from the date corresponding to the
customer need date or the original quoted shipment date.
The length of
the backward and foreward forecast consumption page are defined in the Backward
Forecast Consumption field and the Forward Forecast Consumption field.
The part should be registered as a MS level 1 part.
