This activity is used to manually create a new alternate for a product structure header. When a product structure header is created, the system automatically creates the default alternate with ID set to *. Additional alternates can be created representing slightly different ways to manufacture, repair, prototype or disassemble the same part.
To create a new product structure alternate, create a new line in the Alternate section, enter an ID and optionally a description.
The product structure header must exist.
As a result of this activity, a new alternate in status Tentative is added to a product structure header.
