This activity is used to manually create a new recipe structure header. Recipe structures are alternatives to product structures/bills of material, allowing to enter components by weight or by volume. Recipe structures are processed in the same way as product structures in the shop order process. Only components with a weight or volume unit of measure can be included in recipe structure calculations.
A structure header is where the part, site, inventory part revision, and type of product structure are identified. A recipe structure header can be defined for either the manufacturing or prototype process.
To create a new recipe structure header, click New on the Product Structure page. In the assistant, select the relevant Part, Revision No and Structure Type.
This activity requires an inventory part with Part Type set to Manufactured Recipe.
As a result of this activity, the system creates a recipe structure revision of the selected type for the part revision.
