This activity is used to manually create a new alternate for a routing header. When a routing header is created, the system automatically creates the default alternate with ID set to *. Additional alternates can be created representing slightly different ways to manufacture, repair, prototype, disassemble or disposition the same part.
To create a new routing alternate, create a new line in the Alternate section, enter an ID and optionally a description.
The routing header must exist.
As a result of this activity, a new alternate in status Tentative is added to a routing header.
