Enter Technical Drawing and Drawing Revisions

Explanation

This activity is used to enter a technical drawing and drawing revisions as basic data. In some of the manufacturing businesses technical drawings are used as one of the main sources of communicating the engineering design requirements. On the Technical Drawing page it is possible to enter the technical drawing and enter the revisions of it to maintain the correct flow of technical documents.

For the entered drawing revisions, the user can add attachments such as media items and documents, which will be transferred to engineering part navigator record and engineering revision transfer process flow.

A technical drawing can be connected to a master part and each drawing revision can be connected to relevant engineering revision and part revision. Attachments to drawing revisions are also included in the flows.

Engineering revision transfer process transfers the drawing revision information along with the engineering revision, if drawing revisions are connected to the engineering part revisions.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• A technical drawing and drawing revisions are entered.
• Technical drawing can be linked to an existing master part and when creating a new master part, when creating an inventory part or when creating new an engineering part.
• Technical drawing revisions can be connected to engineering revisions and part revisions if master part has the connection to the relevant technical drawing.
• Technical drawing revision will be transferred through the engineering revision transfer process if engineering revision has a drawing revision connected.
• If technical drawing revisions are connected to part revisions, the drawing and drawing revision information will be visible on the product structures, shop order and some of the supply chain related pages such as Purchase Orders, Register Arrivals, Receipts etc.
